All of the books I looked into had been downloaded from librivox.com, a great 100% free site, but with the Librivox introduction and public domain notice replaced by AllYouCanBooks' introduction. That introduction doesn't credit the source or the readers who volunteered their time as a public service, nor does it say that they are public domain.

Charging $20 a month for books that they and you can download for free may be legal, since they are public domain, but it is just an unethical scam. I cancelled the same day I signed up and did get a confirmation email, so I presume they won't attempt to charge my PayPal account.

Reason of review: Selling public domain material to people who don't know that.

Preferred solution: This is just to inform potential customers that they will be paying for stuff they can get for free.

All You Can Books Cons: Deceptive scam.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado
